The continued nationwide lockdown currently in place, prevents us from opening any of our Resorts until further notice. Until we receive clarity and an indication as to when we’ll be able to welcome you back to your home resort, we will continue to bank your affected weeks with SunSwop at 100% of the points value of the week. In the meantime, you can rest assured that our Resort Management teams are ensuring that the resorts remain in tip top shape in anticipation of your return.
This banking will enable you to do an exchange either back into your home resort or into another resort within the Southern Sun portfolio of resorts, or into other RCI resorts either locally or internationally. There is no need for you to contact us to get your week banked, as we will do this for you. This includes any owners who have placed their unit into the Resort Rental Pool. During this unprecedented time, we will not be accepting timeshare weeks into the Resort Rental Pool or issuing private arrangement confirmation letters for the remainder of 2020. Kindly ensure that all your private arrangements guests have been informed of the closure.
All owners affected by this extended closure will receive a credit to their 2021 levy account to the value of R509 (applicable for an exchange back into another Southern Sun Resort). It is important to note that the exchange fee credited to your account (R509) will not cover the entire cost of your exchange should you decide to do the exchange beyond 2020 or into a resort which is not a Southern Sun Resort. In these instances, you will be required to pay the difference.
